Introduction

Welcome to ALIK. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ALIK website at alikhome.com (the “Site”),and the purchase of ALIK products and services.

Please read these Terms carefully before using our Site, App, or purchasing our products. By accessing or using our Site, App, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not access or use our Site, App, or services.

1. Definitions

  • “ALIK,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to ALIK, a Canadian company operating the website alik.ca and providing smart toilet products and related services.
  • “Customer,” “you,” or “your” refers to any individual or entity accessing our Site, App, or purchasing our products or services.
  • “Products” refers to ALIK smart toilets and related accessories.
  • “Services” refers to installation, maintenance, repair, and customer support services provided by ALIK or authorized service providers.
  • “Site” refers to the ALIK website at alik.ca and any associated subdomains.
  • “App” refers to the ALIK mobile application for iOS and Android devices.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our Site,, creating an account, or purchasing our Products or Services, you acknowledge that:

  1. You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms
  2. You have read and agree to our Privacy Policy
  3. You are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your province/territory
  4. If purchasing on behalf of a business, you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms
  5. You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Site. Your continued use of the Site, App, or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or prominent notice on the Site.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of our Site or App, you may be required to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your password
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

3.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Providing false or misleading information
  • Any other reason at our sole discretion

4. Product Purchases

4.1 Product Descriptions

We strive to provide accurate product descriptions, specifications, images, and pricing. However:

  • Product images are for illustrative purposes and may not perfectly represent the actual product
  • Minor variations in color, finish, or appearance may occur
  • We reserve the right to correct errors in product descriptions or pricing
  • Product specifications are subject to change without notice
  • We do not warrant that product descriptions are error-free or complete

4.2 Pricing

All prices are displayed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

We reserve the right to:

  • Change prices at any time without prior notice
  • Correct pricing errors, even after an order is placed
  • Limit quantities available at promotional prices
  • Modify or terminate promotions at any time

If we discover a pricing error after you’ve placed an order, we will notify you and give you the option to:

  • Proceed with the order at the correct price
  • Cancel the order and receive a full refund

4.3 Orders and Acceptance

Placing an Order:

  • When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase the product(s)
  • We will send you an order confirmation email (this is NOT acceptance of your order)
  • We reserve the right to accept or reject your order at our sole discretion
  • Your order is accepted when we ship the product(s) and send you a shipping confirmation

We may refuse or cancel orders if:

  • The product is unavailable or out of stock
  • We cannot verify or authenticate your payment information
  • We detect fraudulent or suspicious activity
  • You have violated these Terms
  • There is a pricing or product description error
  • You exceed quantity limits

4.4 Payment

Accepted Payment Methods:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit cards
  • PayPal
  • Financing through approved partners (Financeit)

Payment Processing:

  • Payment is processed at the time of order placement
  • For financed purchases, terms are subject to credit approval
  • You authorize us to charge your payment method for the total order amount
  • All payments are processed securely through third-party payment processors

Payment Issues:

  • If payment cannot be processed, your order will not be fulfilled
  • You are responsible for any fees charged by your financial institution
  • We are not responsible for currency conversion fees

4.5 Taxes

Applicable taxes (GST, HST, PST, QST) will be calculated and added to your order total based on your shipping address. You are responsible for all applicable taxes.

5. Shipping and Delivery

5.1 Shipping

Free Shipping: We offer free standard shipping on all orders to Canadian addresses.

Shipping Areas: We ship to all provinces and territories in Canada. Delivery times may vary by location.

Shipping Times:

  • Standard delivery: 5-10 business days for major cities (Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal)
  • Extended areas: 10-15 business days
  • Remote locations: May require additional time

Shipping Method: We use reputable carriers including Canada Post, UPS, and Purolator. Carrier selection is at our discretion.

Tracking: You will receive a tracking number via email once your order ships.

5.2 Delivery

White-Glove Delivery Included:

  • Inside placement (not curbside)
  • Unpacking of product
  • Removal of packaging materials

Delivery Requirements:

  • Someone must be present to accept delivery (age 18+)
  • Provide a safe, accessible delivery location
  • Inspect product for damage upon delivery
  • Report any damage or defects immediately to the carrier and ALIK

Delivery Attempts:

  • Carriers typically make 3 delivery attempts
  • If delivery cannot be completed, you may need to pick up from carrier depot
  • Additional delivery fees may apply for re-delivery requests

Refused or Undeliverable Shipments:

  • If you refuse delivery or the shipment is undeliverable, you may be charged return shipping fees
  • Refunds will be issued minus shipping costs and restocking fees (if applicable)

5.3 International Shipping

We currently ship only within Canada. We do not ship to international addresses at this time.

5.4 Risk of Loss

Risk of loss and title for Products pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. However, we will assist with damage claims and work to resolve any delivery issues.

6. Installation Services

6.1 Professional Installation

Standard Installation Service: $499 CAD (included FREE with Signature Series purchases; FREE for Alberta residents purchasing 2+ units as per promotional terms)

What’s Included:

  • Pre-installation consultation and assessment
  • Removal and disposal of old toilet
  • Professional installation by licensed plumber and electrician
  • Water supply connection
  • Electrical connection (outlet must be within 4 feet)
  • Complete setup and testing
  • App pairing and configuration
  • Feature training and demonstration
  • Post-installation cleanup
  • 30-day follow-up consultation
  • 1-year installation workmanship warranty

What’s NOT Included:

  • Electrical wiring, outlet installation, or circuit upgrades (quoted separately)
  • Plumbing modifications beyond standard toilet replacement
  • Tile, flooring, or wall repairs
  • Access to installation area (you must provide clear access)
  • Permits (if required by local building codes)

6.2 Installation Requirements

Customer Responsibilities:

You must ensure:

  • Clear access to the bathroom and installation area
  • A 120V GFCI-protected electrical outlet within 4 feet of toilet location
  • Working water supply shut-off valve
  • Someone age 18+ present during installation
  • Pets are secured during service visit
  • Accurate information provided during booking

Electrical Requirements:

  • ALIK toilets require a dedicated 120V, 15-amp GFCI-protected outlet within 4 feet (1.2 meters) of the toilet
  • If electrical work is needed, a separate quote will be provided
  • Typical cost for electrical work: $150-$400 depending on complexity
  • Electrical work will not proceed without your approval of the quote

6.3 Installation Scheduling

  • Installation appointments are scheduled after product delivery
  • We will contact you within 24 hours of delivery to schedule installation
  • Installation typically occurs within 1-2 weeks of delivery in major cities
  • You may request specific dates/times (subject to availability)
  • Same-week installation available for additional $150 fee

6.4 Installation Cancellation or Rescheduling

  • You may cancel or reschedule with at least 48 hours’ notice at no charge
  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a $100 cancellation fee
  • No-shows will be charged the full installation fee
  • We reserve the right to reschedule due to technician availability, weather, or emergencies

6.5 DIY Installation

You may choose to install the product yourself. If you opt for DIY installation:

  • Installation guides and videos are available at alikhome.com/support
  • We provide phone and chat support for installation questions
  • Professional installation is recommended for warranty optimization
  • DIY installation does not void product warranty
  • Installation-related issues from DIY installation are not covered under warranty
  • You are responsible for compliance with local building and electrical codes
  • You assume all risk and liability for self-installation

7. Warranties

7.1 Limited Product Warranty

ALIK provides the following limited warranties on Products purchased from authorized retailers:

2-Year Comprehensive Warranty:

  • Covers defects in materials and workmanship for 2 years from date of purchase
  • Covers all components: ceramic, electronic, mechanical, and structural
  • Includes parts and labor for covered repairs

What’s Covered:

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Component failures under normal use
  • Workmanship defects

What’s NOT Covered:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage from misuse, abuse, or negligence
  • Damage from improper installation (unless installed by ALIK)
  • Damage from unauthorized modifications or repairs
  • Damage from accidents, acts of God, or external factors
  • Damage from use with incompatible accessories
  • Damage from improper cleaning products or methods
  • Cosmetic damage that doesn’t affect functionality
  • Products purchased from unauthorized sellers
  • Commercial use (separate commercial warranties available)

7.2 Installation Warranty

If you purchase professional installation from ALIK:

1-Year Installation Workmanship Warranty:

  • Covers installation-related issues for 1 year from installation date
  • Includes leaks at connection points, improper mounting, electrical connection issues
  • Does not cover product defects (covered under product warranty)

7.3 Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim:

  1. Contact us at support@alik.ca or 1-888-ALIK-LUX
  2. Provide proof of purchase, serial number, and description of issue
  3. We will troubleshoot remotely when possible
  4. If necessary, we will schedule a service visit or provide replacement parts
  5. Warranty service is provided at our discretion (repair, replacement, or refund)

Important:

  • You must register your warranty at alik.ca/warranty-registration within 30 days of purchase (recommended but not required for coverage)
  • Warranty is non-transferable unless product remains installed at original location
  • Warranty claims must be made during the warranty period
  • We reserve the right to inspect the product before authorizing warranty service

7.4 Disclaimer of Warranties

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THESE TERMS, ALIK PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • Products will meet your specific requirements or expectations
  • Products will be error-free or uninterrupted in operation
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Site or App will be available, secure, or error-free

8. Returns and Refunds

8.1 30-Day Return Policy

Unopened Products:

  • Full refund if returned within 30 days of delivery
  • Product must be unopened, unused, and in original packaging
  • Return shipping costs are deducted from refund
  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable

Opened but Uninstalled Products:

  • Store credit or exchange within 30 days of delivery
  • 15% restocking fee applies
  • Product must be unused and in resellable condition
  • Return shipping costs are customer’s responsibility

Installed Products:

  • Non-returnable
  • Covered by warranty for defects (see Section 7)

8.2 Cancellations

Before Shipment:

  • Full refund if order is cancelled before shipment
  • No cancellation fee

After Shipment:

  • Subject to return policy (see Section 8.1)
  • Return shipping costs apply

8.3 Return Process

To initiate a return:

  1. Contact us at support@alik.ca within 30 days of delivery
  2. Provide order number and reason for return
  3. Receive return authorization (RMA) number
  4. Package product securely in original packaging
  5. Ship to address provided (you pay return shipping unless product is defective)
  6. Refund processed within 7-10 business days of receiving returned product

Return Requirements:

  • Product must include all original accessories, manuals, and packaging
  • RMA number must be clearly marked on outside of package
  • Use trackable shipping method (we are not responsible for lost returns)

8.4 Damaged or Defective Products

If you receive a damaged or defective product:

  1. Report damage/defect within 48 hours of delivery
  2. Provide photos of damage and packaging
  3. We will arrange for replacement or repair at no cost to you
  4. We cover return shipping for damaged/defective products

8.5 Refund Method

Refunds are issued to the original payment method:

  • Credit/debit card refunds: 5-10 business days
  • PayPal refunds: 3-5 business days
  • Financed purchases: Financing account credited

9. Service and Repairs

9.1 In-Warranty Service

For products under warranty (see Section 7):

  • Service is provided at no cost for covered issues
  • Contact support@alikhome.com or 1-855 701 8884 to request service
  • We will troubleshoot remotely when possible
  • If service visit is needed, we will schedule at your convenience
  • Standard response time: 48 hours (Priority: 24 hours, Emergency: 4 hours)

9.2 Out-of-Warranty Service

For products outside the warranty period:

Service Call Fee: $150 CAD

  • Includes diagnostic and assessment
  • Waived if you proceed with repair
  • Parts and labor quoted separately

Parts Replacement:

  • Genuine ALIK parts available for purchase
  • Installed by authorized technicians
  • Parts pricing available at alik.ca/parts

Labor Rates:

  • Standard rate: $120/hour
  • Emergency service (same-day): $180/hour
  • Quotes provided before work begins

9.3 Emergency Service

For emergencies (active leaks, completely unusable toilet):

Emergency Hotline: 1-587 889 1058

  • Available 24/7
  • 4-hour response time
  • Additional fees may apply for after-hours service

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 Ownership

All content on the Site and App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, videos, software, and design, is the property of ALIK or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

ALIK®, the ALIK logo, and product names (Aurora, Cascade, Haven, etc.) are trademarks of ALIK. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written permission.

10.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Access and use the Site and App for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • Download and print content for personal reference

You may NOT:

  • Modify, copy, distribute, or reproduce Site/App content
  • Use content for commercial purposes without permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices
  • Frame or mirror any part of the Site
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Site

10.3 User Content

If you submit content to us (reviews, photos, testimonials, feedback):

  • You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content
  • You represent that you own the content or have permission to submit it
  • You waive any moral rights in the content
  • We may use your content in marketing materials, on the Site, or on third-party platforms
  • We are not obligated to use or publish your content

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

11.1 Exclusion of Damages

ALIK AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business
  • Loss of data or information
  • Cost of substitute products or services
  • Property damage beyond the product itself
  • Personal injury (except as required by law)
  • Emotional distress or mental anguish

11.2 Cap on Liability

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS, YOUR USE OF THE SITE/APP, OR PURCHASE OF PRODUCTS OR SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR $500 CAD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11.3 Exceptions

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any liability that cannot be excluded by law

11.4 Basis of the Bargain

You acknowledge that the limitations of liability in this Section 11 are fundamental elements of the agreement between you and ALIK, and that ALIK would not provide the Site, App, Products, or Services without these limitations.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ALIK and its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Site, , Products, or Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or regulation
  • Your violation of any third-party rights (including intellectual property rights)
  • Any content you submit or transmit through the Site or App
  • Your negligence or willful misconduct
  • Your DIY installation of products

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of [Your Province] and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Jurisdiction

You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [Your City, Province] for any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms.

13.3 Informal Resolution

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@alik.ca to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will work in good faith to resolve the issue within 30 days.

13.4 Class Action Waiver

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE WITH ALIK WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.

13.5 Time Limitation

Any claim or cause of action arising out of your use of the Site, App, Products, or Services must be filed within one (1) year after the claim arose, or it will be forever barred.

  • Interfere with the App’s operation or security features

15. Promotions and Discounts

15.1 Promotional Offers

Promotional offers, discounts, and sales are subject to specific terms and conditions, which will be clearly stated at the time of the offer.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Promotions cannot be combined with other offers
  • Promotions are valid for a limited time
  • Promotional pricing applies only to products in stock during the promotion
  • We reserve the right to modify or cancel promotions at any time
  • Limit one promotional discount per customer unless otherwise stated

15.2 Alberta Multi-Unit Installation Offer

Terms for “Buy 2+ Get FREE Installation” Promotion (Alberta Only):

  • Valid for Alberta residents only (verified by shipping address)
  • Minimum 2 ALIK toilets must be purchased in a single order
  • FREE installation valued at $499 per unit (total savings: $998 for 2 units, $1,497 for 3 units, etc.)
  • Standard installation only (see Section 6 for what’s included)
  • Electrical wiring, outlet installation, or circuit upgrades NOT included (quoted separately)
  • Outlet must be within 4 feet of toilet location
  • Subject to availability in Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and surrounding areas
  • Cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions
  • Offer may be modified or terminated at any time
  • Installation must be completed within 60 days of product delivery

15.3 Financing Offers

0% APR Financing:

  • Subject to credit approval through Financeit
  • Available on purchases of $1,000 or more
  • Promotional period varies (typically 12 months at 0% APR)
  • If balance is not paid in full by end of promotional period, interest may be charged from purchase date
  • Late payment fees may apply
  • Full terms provided at checkout and by financing partner

16. Commercial and Bulk Purchases

16.1 Commercial Terms

Purchases for commercial use (hotels, condos, offices, multi-unit properties) are subject to separate commercial terms and agreements.

Commercial customers may receive:

  • Volume discounts (10-30% based on quantity)
  • Extended payment terms
  • Dedicated account manager
  • Commercial warranty (up to 5 years)
  • Priority service and support

16.2 Reseller Restrictions

You may not purchase products for resale without our prior written authorization.

Unauthorized resale violates these Terms and may result in order cancellation and account termination.

17. Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the Site, App, Products, or Services:

  • For any unlawful purpose or in violation of any laws
  • To harass, abuse, or harm another person
  • To impersonate ALIK, our employees, or another user
  • To upload viruses, malware, or malicious code
  • To collect or harvest personal information about other users
  • To interfere with or disrupt the Site, App, or servers
  • To engage in any automated use (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • To circumvent security features or access restrictions
  • To make unsolicited commercial communications
  • To engage in fraudulent activity

18. Termination

18.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Site and App at any time. You may close your account by contacting support@alikhome.com.

18.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, App, or account at any time, with or without notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Suspected fraud or illegal activity
  • Abuse of our staff or service providers
  • Excessive returns or chargebacks
  • Any other reason at our sole discretion

18.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Site and App immediately ceases
  • You remain liable for any outstanding obligations
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including warranties, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution)

19. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
  • Acts of God (earthquakes, floods, fires, storms)
  • War, terrorism, civil unrest
  • Government actions or regulations
  • Labor disputes or strikes
  • Utility failures or shortages
  • Supplier or manufacturer delays
  • Pandemics or public health emergencies
  • Transportation disruptions
  • Internet or telecommunications failures
In such events, our performance obligations will be suspended for the duration of the force majeure event.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms provided at the time of purchase or service, constitute the entire agreement between you and ALIK regarding your use of the Site, App, Products, and Services. These Terms supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and proposals (oral or written) between you and ALIK.

22. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.

23. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms or delegate our obligations without restriction.

24. Third-Party Beneficiaries

These Terms are solely for the benefit of you and ALIK. No third party has any right to enforce these Terms.

25. Language

These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only. In case of conflict, the English version prevails. For Quebec residents: The parties have requested that these Terms and all related documents be drafted in English. 27. Special Provisions

27.1 For Quebec Consumers

If you are a consumer residing in Quebec, certain provisions of Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act may apply. In case of conflict between these Terms and Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act, the Act prevails to the extent of the conflict.

27.2 For Alberta Consumers

If you are a consumer residing in Alberta, certain provisions of Alberta’s Fair Trading Act may apply.

27.3 For All Canadian Consumers

Certain consumer protection laws may apply depending on your province or territory of residence. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection legislation.

Acknowledgment

BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SITE, APP, OR PURCHASING PRODUCTS OR SERVICES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. ALIK — Canadian Luxury for Modern Living
